DLO A SE ESPWA – WATER IS HOPE
Abdul Fettah & Umrunisa Ahmedi
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, and one that has a dire need for clean water. Located in the Caribbean it is hot year round in Haiti, and many of its residents have to walk miles to reach a clean water source. The cost of one well, that can provide clean water to hundreds of people is $7,000. This water source will not only provide them with clean drinking water, but the opportunity for plumbing, bathing, and more, because without water they lack bathrooms, showers, and many of life’s common necessities we take for granted.
Our grandparents have always done so much for us, and have always taught us to give back to others. So in honor of them we are raising money to open a water well at an orphanage in Haiti, so that children and surrounding neighbors in the area can have easier access to clean water. We want our grandparents legacy to live on through each drop of water that falls from the mouth of the well, so that our grandparents can continue to always give back to a small part of the world even after they leave.
